“thank you shade” is a conceptual journal that logs the last two summers abroad. utilizing a visual diary to re-evaluate my time with everything I came in contact with has given me a way to remember these precious moments that seemed to pass me so quickly. 

shade is the epitome of hospitality, offering comfort and safety in total selflessness. when I titled this project “thank you shade”,  I was reffering to everyone who made me feel loved and at-home when I was merely a visitor. if this metaphor or project resonates with you, I encourage you to let those you met—no matter how brief—know that you appreciate their shade.
